Position Summary

Responsible for clerical and accounting support for the Permanent Trust Fund Board of Trustees Administrative Offices. Applicant must be able to work with minimal supervision and complete tasks in a timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Performs all phases of support services including reception, answering telephones, filing, typing, and general clerical duties as assigned.
  2. Greets and screens visitors using excellent communication skills.
  3. Answers office phone lines and routes call appropriately.
  4. Makes copies, collates and distributes documents as directed.
  5. Prepares special projects as assigned.
  6. Produces correspondence, memos, etc. using good judgement, excellent grammar and punctuation skills and limited guidance as required.
  7. Handles all clerical and accounting duties with the utmost discretion and confidentiality.
  8. Assists tribal members with filling out forms as needed.
  9. May distribute Trust Board program items and/or documents and checks as directed by the Controller.
  10. May assist with accounting functions during the absence of the Controller.
  11. Fill in during staff sickness, vacation, travel, or other times as needed.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

One year certificate from college or technical school; or one or more years of related clerical experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must demonstrate knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and/or fund accounting concepts. Must have intermediate to expert proficiency in Microsoft Word processing and Excel spreadsheet applications. Experience with accounting software systems preferred.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, policies and procedures, and operating rules and documents. Ability to write reports and correspondence as required. Ability to respond to people of all nationalities, cultures, and educational backgrounds in a polite and professional manner. Ability to effectively present information to management and/or groups.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret statistical graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems, apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Other Skills/Requirements

Must have a valid Washington State driver’s license and Proof of Insurance.
Must have reliable transportation.
Must sign a confidentiality agreement.
