Auditor (Government)

Position Summary:

As a member of the Puyallup Tribe of Indians (PTOI) Department of Internal Audit, and under the  general direction of the Director of Internal Audit or designee, performs professional internal audit work of minimal to increasing difficulty including compliance and operational audit work for the PTOI government operations.

Education and/or Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required. 
  • Minimum three years of internal audit experience with demonstrated knowledge of the federal, state, or local government is preferred; tribal government preferred.
  • Must possess and demonstrate knowledge in developing analysis methods.
  • Must possess and demonstrate a high level of independence to follow leads, research findings, and draw logical conclusions.
  • Must have an understanding of techniques, testing and sampling methods, standards for conducting audit engagements, and the requirements set forth in the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.
  • Must have intermediate to advanced computer skills in spreadsheets, database, and word processing applications.
  • Must possess and demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.
  • Must be able to occasionally travel for business.

On-Call Program Assistant Housing Safety & Gang Pr

Position Summary:

This is an on-call position where work will be available on an “as needed” basis and is responsible for assisting the Tribal Housing Family Involvement Coordinator as needed.

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma/GED required; and one year of related experience in planningand organizing recreation activities; or satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience.  Basic beginner level experience in computer skills, specifically working with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher required.

Note: Part-time work is prorated in crediting experience (e.g., if you work 20 hours per week for a 12-month period you will be credited with 6 months of experience).

Intern Accounting Department

Position Summary:

The Tribal Administration HR Department is looking for Tribal Members interested in taking part in an Internship Program in our Accounting Department working with DAP Services, Inc.  Anyone interested should submit an application, resume of previous work experience and/or education, a one page personal statement as to why you are interested in this program, and a copy of your transcripts to the Human Resource Department. 

Successful applicants must be:

  • Currently enrolled in a two- or four-year accredited college or vocational school;
  • Pursuing a degree in accounting, business, or related field;
  • Maintaining a GPA of at least 2.5;
  • Have at least a beginner knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel; and
  • Have basic math, 10-key and communication skills.

Teacher's Assistant - On Call

Salary: $16.10/Hour

Position Summary:

Assists in the care and early education of children (birth to age 5) and school age children at the Grandview Child Care Center. Creates and maintains a safe, healthy, and culturally appropriate learning environment for young children.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assists classroom teachers in planning and implementing the daily program in all group and outdoor activities.
  2. Greets arriving and departing parents, children and co-workers with a smile and positive attitude.
  3. Encourages parents to record daily arrival and departure times for all children enrolled at the Center.
  4. Assists preparing the learning environment, setting up interest centers and preparing materials and supplies that are culturally relevant to the children.
  5. Supervises and provides assistance in the bathrooms.
  6. Treats children with dignity and respect and maintains the Positive Discipline Policy of the Center.
  7. Assists with meal-time activities of the children to encourage and foster the use of good table manners.
  8. Assists with housekeeping activities as assigned to maintain a clean environment center-wide.
  9. Maintains professional attitudes and loyalty to the Center at all times.
  10. Attends Staff Meetings, workshops, conferences, courses, all in-service training and other aspects of professional growth when recommended by the Center Manager.
  11. Utilizes Center materials and teaching supplies constructively and resourcefully.
  12. Considers individual children in relationship to their cultural and socio-economic background and developmental level.
  13. Keeps information about families confidential.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned.
