Project Description

The building will be located north of Takopid Health Clinic. The building is envisioned as a 2 story structure that will include elements of pacific northwest Native American architecture. This building will also compliment the existing adjacent buildings in an effort to continue the story of the Puyallup Tribe of Indians. Site work will in- clude new landscaping, a spirit garden, parking areas and pedestrian paths will link the adjacent building to the new Elder’s Center creating a sense of campus.

Call for Artists

If you are Native American artist from the Puyallup Tribe or from the Puget Sound area Tribes, interested in creating and submitting artwork or artworks for the Puyallup Tribe of Indians new Elders Facility, you are invited to participate in our “Call to Artist” workshop. The Puyallup Tribe of Indians, in coordination with the Design and Construction Management Team, is seeking artist to provide Native American art inspired by Coast Salish and art that creates a sense of place that is specifi c to the Pacifi c Northwest. Artwork will be purchased and will be owned by Puyallup Tribe.

Project Delivery Method

This project will use the “Design Assist” delivery method. With this method the Tribe contracts directly with the architectural firm and the general contractor. This method enables the site construction schedule to start during design development, delivering the project sooner.
